10 Towers of the Netherlands

Cityspaces, some of us enjoyed chasing rooftops so they snap a selfie at a crazy (and dangerous) altitude, or take a picture of our shoes at the corner view of some building. Well some others like Coen Pohl who would rather illustrate them. It’s safer! We’ve featured his work before and it’s always an interesting pleasure to see what he’s up with his cityscape isometric-style of artworks. Hope you will enjoy!

We often forget to look up when we walk or cycle around the city. A shame, because there are many beautiful – be it old or modern – towers in the Netherlands with great architectural details. This personal projects aims to showcase these towers in a more abstract way, where I focus purely on the shapes of these towers.

Environment Design Concepts by Wojtek Fus

To me, it’s always fascinating to see what artists create with the tools we all (somewhat) share nowadays. Especially for the case of  Environment Design, How artists see our world and imagine a complete different world. The tone, the atmosphere they put our minds into. Either it’s for of a movie, a game or a concept, they control what we will see and how imaginative they can push us through.

In my free time I love to explore new tools and technologies and apply them to my workflow. This constant search for a new and fresh way of communicating stories very strongly drives the look of my art.

Graphic Design Works by Jennifer Lucey-Brzoza

We’ve been shifting a lot of UX/UI articles lately on Abduzeedo, not that is a bad thing but the industry is heading more towards the future of digital content and projects. At times, it’s great to see what designers are doing in brand identity, typography and even illustration. We tend to forget that most of us are coming from a  Print background. Like the work from Jennifer Lucey-Brzoza that we are showcasing today.

Print Inspiration: Business Cards

Do we still use the  business card? I love the business card, might be a bit 90s old school of me but I found this concept still working nowadays. With all the social/portfolio platforms where we can share our work like your own site, unlike the business card. It’s still very fond to show an impression of yourself on a piece of cardboard. Coming to this, I don’t think there’s a trend in designing a business card. I think the best concepts are the ones that relevantly showcased either you, your brand or the company you represent.

UI Inspiration: Footers

One of our colleagues on Abduzeedo was looking for inspiration about  Footers. As simple as it is, it was a bit tricky to find some good ones. Why? Because the idea/concept of the Footer is fairly simple, everything that isn’t as important as the information we put into the Menu or Hamburger Menu will ended-up in the Footer. Is it a good practice, it depends on how you look at it. For mostly, the hierarchy of the Footer is usually for additional information like widgets, subscriptions, links and etc. You will see in the following collection, some of them tend to break these rules.

UI Inspiration: Cards

I really do enjoy surfing on Dribbble for inspiration, it’s really a great platform to see what people are working on and possibly some of the latest trends in action. For this week, I thought about putting together a collection on:  Cards. Cards are to some the future for Web Design, not because Google did it! I personally kind of agree with that, for the main reason of making the web more responsive and with the challenge we daily encounter different screen sizes. It can be manipulated and also by keeping its creative side.
